Common Plumbing Issues Solved

Hi, my name is Clint Hastings and I've written this blog as a source of information about plumbing problems. I like to fix things around the house and through the years, I've learned a lot about plumbing systems and how they work. It wasn't always by choice, but when you wake up to a bathtub full of sewage or your kitchen sink won't drain, you've got to do something to fix the problem. All through my blog, you'll learn about common plumbing problems, troubleshooting tips and how to make simple repairs to get your water running again. Since running water is something that's used every day, I think it's important to know how to fix minor plumbing issues. Not every plumbing issue is simple to fix, so I'll also let you know when it's time to put down the wrench and call a professional plumber.

Different Types of New Home Package Options for a New Home

If you want to move into a brand new home, there are multiple ways that you can achieve that goal, depending on the style of home you want, the location where you want the home to be built, where you want to live, and your budget.

#1: Modular Home

Modular homes are homes that are built off-site and not on the property themselves. Once the home is built, it is then transported to the building site, where the foundation will have been laid for the home. Using cranes, the home will be assembled and finishing touches will be added to the home.

Modular homes used to just be for factory-style homes; however, this building style can also be used for brand-new custom homes as well. With modular homes, the build can build the home at a central location which allows for a quicker building process. With a modular home, as the parts have to be transported, there can be some size limitations on the type of home designs this style of building works with.

#2: Spec Homes

A spec home is a brand-new home that you purchase that has already been built. Someone else has already designed the home and overseen the building process. With a spec home, the home is already finished for you. However, if you purchase the spec home as it is in the process of being built, the layout may be set, but you may be able to customize things such as the interior paint colors, flooring material, and types of appliances for the home. With a spec home, you are paying for the land as well as the builder's financing fees and even the interest on their loan.

#3: Standard Home

With a standard home, you are getting a brand-new home built just for you, but you are choosing from a variety of existing floor plans that the building already has experience with. With many standard homes, you also get to choose from a variety of different levels of finish for the home as well. A standard home can be built on land that you already own. Sometimes, standard home layouts are also sold with land by a builder. This allows the builder to stick to a plan that they excel at and build frequently while allowing you a little variety and customization.

#4: Custom Home

With a custom home, you have the greatest degree of freedom. With a custom home, you are working with an architect and a builder. You are planning and choosing the floor plan, and every other element of the home. You are building a unique creation that is designed to meet your unique needs. With this type of home build, you are going to need to find the land to build the home on and hire an architect and builder. You are also going to be very involved in the decision-making process.
